The last French lesson of the year this week in Year 5 had a decidedly Christmassy theme as children found out all about Christmas and New Year traditions in France. Whilst the thought of gifts from Saint Nicolas on the 6th December and a traditional bûche de Nöel (chocolate log) at the Christmas meal was a crowd-pleaser, the idea of having no Boxing Day or Christmas cards was less so! Children went on to compare French and British festive traditions using a Venn diagram.
From all in Year 5, Joyeux Nöel et Bonne Année!
