Today we welcomed Dr. Paul Williams MP into school to support our work on democracy and British values. As our local MP, the children in Y6 had been keen to meet him and deepen their understanding (at this very busy time in politics!) of local, national and international issues from a politicians perspective.
The contributions from the children were impressive, and the CEO of our Trust, Mr Holmes, was rightly pleased to share this special session and to hear the children’s thoughtful questioning.
We took receipt of a parliamentary loan box this week too, and we are going to use the resource to develop some of the ideas the visit from Paul has stimulated – some exciting things to come!
