This week helped Monsieur Stravganza investigate which materials would be best to build a flying machine.

We needed to think carefully about which materials would be the most suitable and why.

For building a flying machine which properties do you think the materials need to have?

‘It needs to be very strong.’

‘I think it should be flexible.’

‘It should be water resistant, that means it doesn’t let the water through.’

We really enjoyed being investigators, after we had decided which materials would be the best. We then designed and made our own flying machines.

We had a wonderful afternoon using all the different materials, afterwards we tested our flying machines outside!
