This week the children have been exploring turnips! They have learnt about where and how they grow. We cooked some turnip and let them try some! Some of the children loved it! Another vegetable to add to their Sunday roast perhaps! We read the story of ‘The Enormous Turnip’ and thought of other words that meant the same as enormous – big, huge ginormous, gigantic, large, massive. The children also learnt the difference between fruit and vegetables. They learnt that fruit have seeds and vegetables don’t!
