Inspired by the abstract 'space art' of celebrated American artist, Peter Thorpe, children in Year 5 tried their hand at creating their own spectacular pieces of art inspired by space themes such as planets, rockets and galaxies.

After carefully planning and considering their designs, children created their backgrounds using pastels on black card. They experimented with smudging to create highly impressive effects before cutting out and adding rockets.

Every piece of art was unique; every piece was truly fantastic! Please take a look in our artists' gallery!
