Yarm Primary School were treated to a visit from bestselling children's author, Peter J Murray, on Monday. And what a visit it was! Key Stage 2 were completely absorbed as Peter discussed his inspiration for becoming an author, where he draws his ideas from for his 'Mokee Joe' series of books, and some of the character and plot highlights within his books. We discovered, for example, that Mokee Joe has demonic powers and throughout the books targets a group of school children who manage to evade him. But for how long, that is the question?! Peter shared some of the fabulous artwork used to illustrate the books and kindly handed out exclusive bookmarks to children who correctly answered questions such as 'What do we call a collection of three books?' The following day, Peter returned to sign books and answer further questions. We would like to thank Peter for his visit and for filling our children with enthusiasm for reading and for discovering a new author. Let's just hope Mokee Joe doesn't visit Yarm Primary anytime soon!
