Year 2 have been thinking about how to keep safe near roads as part of the Brake, Road Safety Week.
After completing lots of different activities Y2SW have come up with 10 ways to keep safe when you are near roads.
10 ways to keep safe around roads
- Always stand next to the car and not in front or behind the car.
- Look left and right and don’t go on to the road in case a car comes.
- You should always hold a grown-ups’ hand when you walk near or cross the road.
- Before you cross you need to stop, look and listen.
- You need a booster seat until you are old enough or tall enough to reach the headrest.
- Walk on the side away from the road, where it is safe.
- Always wear a seatbelt.
- When it is on the green man people need to go, and cars need to stop.
- Listen to the road, don’t wear headphones or be on a mobile when you are near the road.
- Always have a helmet on when you are on your bike.
