Odd Socks
As part of our School Friendship week, the children discussed respect and what it means to them. They then thought about ways in which we could show respect around school. The children are looking forward to putting these suggestions into action.
Children in Need
Year 3 have enjoyed being part of the Children in Need fundraising effort. They came into school dressed in spots or striped and learned about the history of Children in Need and how they use the money that is raised.

The children have been learning about budgets and different types of payments and using this as inspiration for their maths learning this week.
Guisborough Woods
Year 3 enjoyed an educational visit to Guisborough woods this week. They learned about identifying different trees and also about the uses of some of the trees. The children had the opportunity to saw some trees and use flint and to start a fire for their hot chocolates.

Poet visit
The children in Year 3 were lucky to receive a visit from a local poet, Bob Beagrie. The children created a descriptive poem about a ‘monster’ that had escaped from Bob’s box. Let us know if you find it.
Swimming
The children from Year 3 started their swimming sessions this week. They have really enjoyed their time in the pool and are already looking forward to coming back in the new year.
Volcano Art
