We had a fun and active time today at the EYFS sports festival.

This week we are designing and creating rockets and blasting off to the moon. The children will be acting out the story using props, writing a list of items to take with them and creating a night time picture.

This week reception went on a bear hunt around the school on the search for our very own bear. Before the hunt we came up with a list of things we would need to take with us. We went through the long wavy grass, thick oozy mud, swirling snowstorm and dark gloomy cave.

This week we have been beginning to look at different 2d shapes,  we have talked about their properties and we have sorted the shapes according to these. Some of us made patterns using different cut out shapes in the sticky area and we also made people and animals by drawing around the shapes.

This week reception have been doing all about Goldilocks and the three bears. The children have made paper plate bears and even designed and built a house for the bears to live in. The children have settled in really well and seem to be enjoying our topic which is bears.

The children have settled in nicely this week and completed lots of super learning. Well done.

We have discussed the Golden Rules and all agreed to follow them.
